Ionic Solutions’ Detergents Division focuses on providing detergent manufacturers performance additives to create unique and improved effects of their products in homes and industries on a global basis.
Detergents used on a day to day basis have requirements for dispersion, rheology control, stability and sequestration performance. Our range of products provide detergent manufacturers with the ability to create numerous effects such as rheology modification of liquid detergents, boosting the cleaning power of liquid and powder detergents, anti-redeposition properties in laundry and surface cleaning products and sequestering properties in all detergents.
Dispersants:
Our range of dispersants include numerous copolymers and homopolymers with varying degrees of solids and molecular weight spreads for reducing encrustation, increasing soil removal and preventing soil redeposition in detergent and cleaning products. Polyacrylate polymers are used at low levels and are designed to improve the performance of detergent formulations.
Our polymers are designed to meet the challenge of different cleaning or washing conditions such as water hardness, high alkalinity, varying temperatures as well as acidic and chlorine stability. We provide both liquid and powder grades for a better suit to your processing needs. We also offer the choice of both acid and neutralised products.
Thickeners:
Our range of thickeners and rheology modifiers have been designed to provide numerous effects to detergent formulations. We are able to offer the following types of products:
Alkali Swellable Emulsions 5 grades of ASE’s each providing different rheology and effects such as having the ability to create opaque or clear gel products as well as offering formulators the choice of “soft” or “hard” rheological control. Predominantly used for anionic formulations.
Associative Thickeners 5 grades of products, both anionic and non-ionic, designed to provide more Newtonian rheology than ASE’s and providing formulators the ability to maximise “flow” of liquid detergents and levelling. We also have products that are suitable for improving low shear viscosity enabling formulator to utilise these products in trigger-spray bottles effectively.
Liquid Dispersion Thickeners 6 grades of products, both anionic and cationic, designed for “hard to thicken” formulations such as acidic formulations or detergents that have a tendency to shift small degrees of pH over time.
Dye fixing agents:
Consumers expect excellent wet colour fastness and our range of dye fixing agents is designed to give superb results. We have products suitable for all classes of dye used on cellulosic material including zero-formaldehyde reactive dye fixers
Dyebath lubricants:
Dyebath lubricants are vital to prevent creasing, abrasion and pilling of fabrics during garment and fabric processing. We have a wide range of polymeric-based products, which also offer other technical advantages such as antistatic effects and improved disperse dye dispersion
Print thickeners:
Emulsion and Liquid Dispersion Polymers used for thickening print pastes
